Copcakes
Cupcakes Made By a Cop
I started baking back in 2007. I went to a party and a friend of mine brought a dessert trifle. I was fascinated by the presentation and began to explore on my own. It gradually became a creative outlet for me unrelated to the job. I started bringing in my culinary experiments to work to share with colleagues.
Two things I know about cops:
1. They love free food.
2. They'll tell you their honest opinions about food.
Over time I got tired of lugging glass bowls and pans back and forth. I decided to try cupcakes hoping it would make transport easier. While their individuality meant more time and labor upfront, it was definitely convenient on the back end. No more trying to find transport bags for odd shaped/sized containers, no hesitation from others about taking too big a portion because they're all the same size, and best of all---no clean up! I continued to do this as a hobby but began to receive cupcake requests for baby/bridal showers, birthdays, baptisms, and weddings.
In the fall of 2016 I came across a very unique opportunity. I was selected by Nestle Tollhouse as a contract baker for their Bake Some Good Campaign. For 100 days straight, myself and 5 others baked and surprise delivered treats to various groups and organizations that we felt were underappreciated. I discovered so many great non-profit and volunteer groups I didn't even know existed. It culminated on the 100th and final day where the 6 of us set a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive number of hours spent baking (25). It was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
Many people have encouraged me to make this an official side hustle. After much consideration, I decided to go for it! It's been fun integrating my career with one of my hobbies. There are so many serious things in life that everyone needs a break once in a while. Even if you don't order any copcakes I hope my website makes you laugh or smile---just a little. Be safe wherever you are and live like there's no tomorrow because a life full of regrets is no life at all. Thanks for stopping by.
